Annual Report 2023
2023 was a year of preparation and reflection as we made time to hear feedback from our staff and members on the direction we need to move the organization to align more with our values. The challenges we’ve faced over the years, from the pandemic to wildfires and political turmoil locally and nationally, have tested our resilience and commitment. We have not merely survived; we have thrived, and in 2024, we are ready to build on our momentum and create a lasting impact.
In 2023, we achieved many of our goals including passing our Emergency Housing for All bill led by our Rogue Valley chapter as well as the Climate Resilience Package, which would allow us to build climate resilience hubs around the state. Despite opposition from some House Representatives resulting in a walkout and disrupting the legislative session, our members and coalition partners successfully won key priority bills.
In 2024, our primary focus is to increase our membership base and grassroots power. Our strength lies in the collective voice of our members, and by expanding our community across the state, we can amplify that voice even further. At the upcoming United for Action Summit, our members will have the opportunity to vote on our policy priorities, ensuring that our organization remains deeply rooted in the values and aspirations of the communities we serve. Throughout next year, our chapters will prioritize those campaigns selected at this year’s summit and develop plans to meet those campaign goals.
