Unite Oregon’s Hope Housing Project

In 2021 we launched the East Portland Community Prosperity Initiative, aiming to build economic prosperity and wealth creation in our community. The project focuses on empowering community members to advocate for their rights in ownership housing, anti-displacement, business entrepreneurship, workforce development, transportation safety, climate justice and educational opportunities.

As part of this effort, we have launched the Hope Housing Project, to convert a 9,000 sq ft parking lot into 20-plus affordable net zero housing units at or below 60 AMI that address East Portland community needs and diversity. We need your help. Please email Multnomah County Commissioners to prioritize funding for housing in East Portland - take action here!

The Hope Housing Project offers a neighborhood revitalization strategy designed to avoid the displacement that typically occurs when neighborhoods prosper. Families and residents in East Portland will have access to wraparound resources and services only a walk away. Immediately next door will be our newly converted childcare center serving 34 IR-BIPOC children, prioritizing non-English speakers, infant to preschool-aged children, and non-traditional hours.

The Hope Housing Project is central to Unite Oregon’s mission to build a unified intercultural movement for justice across the state. Please make your voice heard and help empower community members through affordable housing, accessible childcare, workforce support, space for community, and empowerment at Unite Oregon.

Email the Multnomah County's Board of Commissioners to urge them to invest the funds.
